We miss seeing our patrons every day! But even though we’re stuck at home, we’re continuing to work hard for our community. So what are we doing?
Storytimes
While we can’t continue holding our popular Laptime and Storytime in person, Miss Christina and Miss Mary Beth have continued to create new storytimes to post on YouTube. Here’s our latest storytime:

Also, keep an eye out for these fun custom coloring pages coming your way, courtesy of Miss Christina!
Collection Development
We brought home the latest copies of Publishers Weekly, Library Journal, and more so we can keep building our collection for when we re-open to the public!
In addition, our technical services department is hard at work getting new books ready to add to our collection!
Expanding Our “Digital Branch”
While our building is closed, we want to maximize the number of services our community can access from home! We’ve created an online form to register for temporary library cards so Phillipsburg residents who did not have cards already can use our remote resources, plus we’re offering temporary extensions on expiring library cards.
In addition to the remote resources we always offer to our patrons, we’ve created additional resource lists for children, and a list of online sources for free ebooks, audiobooks, live performances, and virtual tours. Ancestry Library Edition, which is normally only available within the library, is now available to our patrons at home when they log into their account on our catalog.
We’re also bringing special “events” to our social media accounts. We couldn’t do one of our popular “stuffed animal sleepovers” but Miss Christina is sharing what happens “When the stuffies take over the library” with a new post each weekday.
And as always, our staff continues to be available to answer questions via email at reference_staff@pburglib.org and through messages on Facebook. If you need help accessing any of our online resources, reach out to us and we will be happy to provide assistance!
Collaborating to find new ways to serve you!
Our staff is still “meeting” from our own homes to discuss ways we can continue to improve the services we provide to you during this challenging time.
We hope we will be able to see each other and all our patrons again in person soon. In the meantime, we hope you stay safe and healthy and continue to enjoy our many services from home!
