Borrowing eBooks Through the Library
Phillipsburg Library offers eBooks for borrowing through its DigitalLibraryNJ.com service: the same service that offers downloadable audiobooks.
To borrow eBooks from the library you need:
A valid library card and pin/password
A computer with Internet access or a mobile device
An e-reader or mobile device that works with DRM-protected EPUB books or Kindle format books
A valid email address
You can choose to borrow an eBook for 10 or 14 days. At the end of the loan period, the books stops working and you can delete it from your device. There are no overdue fines, because books never become overdue!
Please note:
eBooks are borrowed the same way as print books: only one patron at a time can borrow a book. Because of high demand, most books will have waiting lists, and you can place holds on the books you want. When your hold is available, you will be notified by email.
You can check out up to five titles at a time. That number includes eBooks AND audiobooks.
If you finish an eBook before your loan period is over, you can return it early, so the next waiting patron can start to read it.
